Urgh. I'm feeling negative. Here's why.
1. The University of Washington Seattle rejected me for grad school about a week ago via email. I had just shaken that off, only to get a rejection LETTER in my PO this morning, stating the same thing as the email. There are two things wrong with this. A) This makes me feel bad all over again. B) Isn't tree-hugging Seattle trying to save paper, anyway?
2. 2 rejection emails for jobs that I spent all Spring Break applying to so far. Thats... mmm.... 2/8, I believe.
3. I wore heels all day and my feet hurt.
4. I was supposed to hear back from Madison by today. Nope. I wish my email had a page view counter. It would probably read somewhere in the thousands. I kept thinking, "If I don't hear back from them by the next time I click refresh, Ima start jumping off of buildings."
5. I have two papers due this week. URGH.
6. Oh, yeah. PS-- I graduate soon. Which means everybody and their sister are interested in what I'm doing with the rest of my life. And instead of being allowed to break down and cry in their arms, I'm supposed to laugh and say something like, "Well, I graduated with an English Major, and, HA! What do you do with THAT?"
7. The song, "Friday," has been stuck in my head for about half a day. Kickin' in the front seat, sittin' in the back seat... WHICH SEAT WILL I TAKE?? Well, I will make this easy for you, Rebecca. There is no more room in the front seat. Sit in the back.
8. I work in 5 minutes.
... *runs*
I feel the exact same way. I actually got a rejection email from a publishing place I really wanted to work at, and I have read it 287 times. Also, I got a C on my Ritchie paper, which is the first time I've gotten a C in my college career, which is devastating so close to the end.
ReplyDeletePeople keep asking what I'm going to do after graduation, and I am terrified that I'm going to end up working as a waitress in a greasy diner. again.
And the "Friday" song. Everybody said it was awful. I should have known better. But I just got so curious, you know, "how bad can it be?" And it won't GET OUT OF MY HEAD FUN FUN FUN FUN.
Anyway, we should get together and weep/whine sometime.
