Bus routes.

So, April Walker gets this brilliant idea to take an internship in downtown Minneapolis at the Central Library.  Awesome!  Great experience, will look good on a resume, and is WAY better than the other option--taking Senior Seminar.  Ick.
Little did April Walker know the horrors of transportation.
For April Walker to park her car on a ramp would cost about $11.  If her internship is three days a week for fourteen weeks, this is over $400 in parking alone.  Note: this is an UNPAID internship.
So, being the forward-thinking eco-friendly, money-saving resourceful independent woman that April Walker is, she decides to give the bus system a try!  She plans her routes, prints out maps, looks up fares... the fare is about $2.00, which is $4.00 a day, which is $12.00 a week, which is $168 for one semester of library fun.  Not bad.  About one paycheck worth to pay for an internship.

After figuring out the cost, it's time to plan my trip!  Okay, so my afternoons are free Monday/Wednesday/Friday.  The bus schedule was too messy with Tuesday/Thursdays, so we'll just keep it consistent and simple. My last class gets over at 12:20...so let's say I'll start my shift at the library at 2:00p.m.  PLENTY of time to travel.

Steps to getting to the library:
1. Hop aboard the Bethel Shuttle at 1:00 pm. to the Rosedale Center.
2. Arrive at Rosedale Center at 1:10p.m.
3. Wait for Bus to arrive.
4. Hop aboard the bus at 1:29p.m.
5. Ride the bus to Marquette/3rd Ave. Arrive at 1:45 p.m.
6. Walk .25 miles to the Library.
7. Arrive at the library in time for my shift? *crosses fingers*

Now my question to you is: Is all of this worth it to save $200?  I think so.  That's a substantial amount of money.  I also personally want to support the public transportation system.  BUT.

Why Public Transportation might suck:
1. Getting hit on by weird old men (Yes, this has happened to me before).
2. Having the shuttle/bus be late, therefore making me late for my library shift.
3. Having a simple 18 minute trip take almost an hour.
4. Missing the bus
5. Being stupid and not getting on the right bus.
6. Being stupid and getting off at the wrong stop.
7. Being stupid and leaving something on the bus.
8. Forgetting something at Bethel of dire importance and not being able to run back to Bethel and get it.
9. Feelings of unsafeness?

Hmm.
