The following sign has been on the break room refrigerator for God-knows how long. (click to view larger.)
I'm sure you've seen signs like this in break rooms across America, posted by the responsibility-thumping police of the office. I decided to switch things up and posted my own sign. You've got to do something to get through the day. All I can say is, Somebody is probably going to come find me and kill me.
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody,
and Nobody
This is an improved
version of the little story about Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was a very
important job to be done and Somebody knew that he had to do it. This job was to hang signs all about the
break room demanding responsibility.
Anybody could have
done it, but he figured since we were all adults responsibility and lack of
grossness were just implied.
Everybody was
pretty good about putting away his things and cleaning up his messes, but once
and a while he was in a hurry and it slipped his mind.
Nobody got upset
about this, and Anybody figured they could help out Everybody when they had a
few minutes.
Sometimes, when
Everybody forgot more than a couple times to clean up, Anybody could notice
that the microwave was starting to stink like the pasta that was made last
week.
Anybody
could clean it up and Nobody complained (Except, that is, for Somebody).
Please
don’t be like Somebody and think that your coworkers don’t
know how to do dishes.
In
other words, we’re all responsible, except for when we’re not, but we can all
look past a dirty cup sitting on the counter.
Also,
Nobody reads refrigerator signs.
(Genesis 21:6)
LOVE.
